project description:
let's take advantage of our collective geographic distance: nyc, austin, el paso, juarez, maui, london, LA, and wherever else we visit.
each one of those places has interesting locations. locations that could be used for other projects in animation, video, or art projects, and may even help spark other ideas...
check this wikipedia article out on the final purpose of this locations bank:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Location_scouting
a few things to keep in mind:
- multiple pictures of the same location are encouraged
- photography should be the principal method, but drawings and diagrams can also help
- consider taking a variety of traditional composition shots (like wide shot, medium shot, close up, reverse, details..) as well as whatever else you want
- also anything complimentary that you think would be crucial to the location, such as people, noise, everything that could make any potential scene better... maybe even traffic noise mp3 file would be cool
- try to take down as much information about the place down as possible, just in case we're trying to remember where something was 5 years from now or something. i'll figure out how to add a google map capability so we can track shit geographically
- clearly title your post the name of the location in order to be able to find it easily later with the "search" function (all of the same location work belongs in the same post, even if it's is a long post)
- assign the category "locations" on your post along with your other category tags

Locations: Jodo Mission from haza on Vimeo.
I couldn’t resist posting this just because it looked so damn cool, plus Hsin-fan’s cousin is a television writer and lives just below. I have tons o pics from wineries, museums, and other locals. But I’m not going to spam this and I have other things to do.
Myself at Huntington Beach, California. One of many stops along the infamous Pacific Coast Highway. It was cold as HELL.
We went to the Chinese New Year celebration in London this past weekend and I was hoping to get some great photos and have a good time but the mass of people was just too large. They had no food booths, or booths of any interest. They did have a small uneventful parade but the main reason you realized any celebration was under way was all the people and the occasional paper lantern rows strung up above. I realized that day that Mexicans celebrate a bit more impressively. Even their title for such events speaks volume: “Fiesta”. At Fiestas you get fed, served drink, music is played and entertainment is never forgotten. I learned to appreciate my culture a bit more that day and I’m pretty sure I’ll skip next years “celebration”.
